The Phasianidae are a family of terrestrial birds which comprise quails, partridges, snowcocks, francolins, spurfowl, tragopans, monals, pheasants, peafowls and jungle fowls. About 46 species occur in India.
Jungle Bush Quail Mt Abu
Once commonly seen here, the numbers have declined over the years. This bird is a solitary one I snapped in Torna Mt Abu in March 2010.
