Wild birds in [ November 2020 ] Mount Abu mountabubirds.blogspot.com

I observed migratory and local birds in November 2020.

The raptors such as the eagles, buzzards, gyps vultures and falcons are observed throughout the year, but keen observation takes place from September to March.  My focus is on the warblers and flycatchers that visit our Hill station. I want to create a list of them for other bird enthusiasts.

The buteos I have photographed over the years here in Abu have left me in a quandary. Their varying plumage colouring and size make it difficult to pinpoint their species. If I have mislabeled any buzzards, please comment with your expert knowledge on the subject so I can rectify and keep the record straight will appreciate your suggestions.

Appreciate the slide shows that I have prepared of the various raptors photographed in November 2020.

Birds of Mount Abu MARCH 2019 mountabubirds.blogspot.com

Birding In March Mount Abu

Mount Abu is no longer a birdwatcher's paradise, nor a sanctuary to spot wild animals. The sanctuary is well preserved but probably lacks adequate food and water for both birds and animals. This sanctuary has very limited animals and birds and for this reason; it is not a favoured hot spot for wildlife enthusiasts and avid birders.
This year my birding streak in the month of March has been an extremely happy one. I could bag a few species that were probably not photographed before. I spotted a few lifers, including the Little Ringed plover, Black Eagle, Common Snipe, Eurasian Craig Martin, Pallid Harrier, and spot-billed duck. I've observed the return of the Vultures which once soared in the skies in large numbers. Appreciate the collection I've drawn up.
