Egyptian Vulture Neophron percnopterus
Right up to the seventies, these vultures were a common sight and were in considerable numbers. They also nested behind St. Mary's High School. in a hillock called Sponge. To spot one nowadays is such a pleasure. They, like the Indian vulture, have almost faded from this area.
