Red-wattled Lapwing. This year, I recorded two batches of Red-wattled Lapwing episodes. The first attempt to raise a brood ended in failure. Click the link to see the coverage.

The second brood raised by the birds, against all odds, was an exceptional feat to witness. Today, 28 June 2019, I witnessed the three chicks making their maiden flight. I photographed their maiden flight one after another.  All three birds achieved adulthood.

Birding in  April 2014.

This year the beginning of April, was a veritable paradise, with pleasant days and cool nights. The fag end of April well we Abuites are surprised that there are such a swift and drastic change in the climate. The days have turned hot with the temperature hovering close to 40C, even the night has turned warm and fans and coolers have to turn on.
I have managed a small collection of birds for the month of April. Hope you enjoy them. Happy Viewing.

Birds in flight Mount Abu

I am fascinated when I see birds in flight. Over the years, I have been honing my skills in trying to trap them in the lens of my cameras. Getting that perfect shot takes a ton of patience and sometimes hours or even days to obtain a particular bird. Tiny bird in flight needs great endurance and patience, getting that perfect shot can lead to frustration and disappointments on many an occasion. Anyway, I’m like the provable hunter never ready to abandon. Enjoy my collection of flying birds for the past month or so. Happy viewing.
