Birding in [ September 2020 ]Mount Abu mountabubirds.blogspot.com

Raptors, Buzzards, Harriers and warblers are the birds to photograph in September.

The second week of September has ended. Birding during this period has been low-key for me because of the overcast skies and the heavy spells of rain. Appreciate The collection of snaps and slideshows I've put together.

Photo of the day

The first of our rare birds are spotted and documented during this month. The migrants have arrived I have already photographed a few weavers such as the Sykes’s Warbler, Clamorous Reed Warbler and Hume’s Warbler. The first of my Harriers the Montagu’s Harrier I photographed on the 5 Sept 2020.
The first week was a cat-and-mouse game with the weather. We had heavy to very heavy rainfall with overcast skies to contend with during this week. Whenever a small window of opportunity offered itself, I did my daily spot of birding. Appreciate my birding photographs and documenting the birds of Mount Abu.

The recording of this Harrier is a lifer for me. I have no idea if someone recorded previously this bird in Mount Abu. The only Harrier recorded was the Western Marsh-Harrier Circus aeruginosus.
