Birding in December in Mount Abu.
Mount Abu Is a trendy tourist destination for the Gujaratis. But in the winter months, we see a lot of visitors from other parts of the country. Earlier, the Abode in the winter months witnessed large groups of foreign tourists, but their numbers have dwindled drastically this last decade. Most tourists visit this oasis to quench their thirst. A sizable number make it their honeymoon destination, and many pilgrims come to pay homage to the ancient temples and religious outlets.
Very few birders come to this small hill station to do birding as it’s not a popular birding destination. Those who do come, come to add the Green Mania / Green Avadavat to their collection, those fortunate bag the spurfowl and the Grey Junglefowl. I have brought together some birds I snapped in December to view the collection.
