Birds of Mori Bera

My grandson Keith, who had never been to the leopard's lair on the 11th Feb 16, asked me to take him on a flash trip as he was to return to his boarding school on the 14 Feb 2016. He was looking forward to seeing the leopards and this legendary outlying village called Bera. Eddie, another mate and a keen border had also landed in Abu after doing a binding stint in Orissa and Bengal, I asked him if he was interested; he jumped at the offer and on the afternoon of the 11 Feb we hired a cab and headed for Bera. After lunch, Kunoo took us for the leopard safari.
What an intriguing trip it had proven to for Junior. He got to see the female leopard Zia and her two cubs. After an exciting picture shoot, we returned to the lair to watch some lovely videos Kunoo had taken a few days previously. They were impressive. The footage he got of the hyena near the caves of the leopard.
The morning safari was a disappointment, as the female leopard must have moved her cubs to a safer haven after sniffing the hyena that had occupied the cave at the base of the hill.
After breakfast, we went on a birding trip. Appreciate the birds of Bera and of the state of Rajasthan.
