Birds of Mount Abu June 2020 mountabubirds.blogspot.com

Lockdown blues and birding views. Mount Abu.

On the 10 of June at 6.45 pm, a storm caused trees to fall, leaving us without power for 18 hours. Birding was disheartening during this period. Have a look at the birds photographed in the second week of June.

Birds of Mount Abu June 2020 mountabubirds.blogspot.com

Lockdown blues and birding views of Mount Abu.

Overcast skies June
Overcast skies June

Birding in June is not as spectacular as in winter. The birder has to be content with overcast skies, gusty winds, and a few summer and monsoon migrants, such as the Indian Blackbird, Indian Golden oriole, Green Avadavat, and the Indian bird of Paradise.
Yesterday, Mt Abu, which prided itself on not having a single case of COVID-19, also succumbed to the virus. We have recorded here a positive case in the abode. Our alert administrative team will hopefully prevent the spread of the virus from escalating.
I have put together a collection of Abu birds for the first week of June 2020.
